Hey everyone. For the past three weeks, I have been working on my senior options Project. At my high school, seniors end classes in the beginning of May and then work on a project or internship of their choice for six weeks. For my senior options project, I have been writing my own sports blog for four hours a day (thesportsslant.com) and working on Trip of a Lifetime for the other two hours a day. This extra ten hours of Trip of a Lifetime work has allowed me to catch up on paperwork and prepare for two ambitious projects.
The first project I am trying to tackle for Trip of a Lifetime during Senior Options is a travel photography and video project. Ever since we started this non-profit more than eighteen months ago, we have always wanted to make our website more user-friendly. One way to do that is to incorporate more photos and videos. For the next six weeks, I will be leading an effort to collect travel photos and videos from all of our friends and supporters. Besides making our website more interactive, we are hoping these photographs will increase awareness of the positive benefits of travel. If you would like to send us photos, please send them to webmaster@projecttoal.org along with your address so we can send you a charity bracelet as a token of our gratitude. Please continue to visit our blog for updates on our project
The second project I am trying to tackle is a little more ambitious. Since its inception eighteen months ago, the charity has only had press coverage in the Westchester Area. Now, we are trying to spread our message to New York and beyond. I have identified twenty five different organizations to contact about press coverage and the charity will send out our latest press release to them. I am very curious to see how we do sans a publicist.
